As for other MMOs that are not MMORPGs... I thought planetside was decent, but I was living in a dorm then and the lag made it hard to play.

Eve Online wasn't my thing... I didn't think there was much of a path pointed out to noobs.

lineage II chaotic chronicles is horrendous, there are huge amounts of farmers (botting) and gm's dont even stop them, and the bots take all the good place, thats just the start, it would be good if they got rid of all that crap

I switch MMO's every few months, once I get sick of them I switch, but I wouldn't talk badly about any of them. FFXI was pretty big, L2 had some of the coolest chracters/armor I've ever seen, WoW was big, and GW is pretty nice in the way of items and character design and also free. Next here I'm giving City of Villains a try if I like the beta (but I can still play GW cuz its free!!!

If Lord of the Rings Online gets good reviews, I may give it a shot.

edit: I see they've changed the name of Middle Earth Online
edit 2: Oh thank God... Vivendi no longer has control over this game. I actually have hope for it now.

Dont be a shithead. Even the crappy Matrix Online costs like 15 bucks a month, and youre bitching that WoW is monthly. Well, the only complaint about WoW that I have is people have their social lives eaten up, which is practically all competent MMO's.

Go find a decent MMO that is in release version, without monthly.

I found out that they are finally fixing something that they have been promising to fix since Decemeber 2003.

And people complain about GW...
